My Collections
I create work in collections, whether inspired by the beauty of the landscape, the character of the natural world or the design of an Art Deco tea service.
Each piece is shaped by the china and jewels I find and once a particular plate, pattern or tiny treasure is gone - it’s gone. No two HellieM mosaics are ever the same.
Seaside Collection
Inspired by life on the North Devon coast, this collection is filled with seahorses, seagulls, lighthouses, boats and other characters from the harbour.
Each one is made from vintage china, jewel-like glass and found treasures, with its own personality and a ladybird hidden somewhere within.
Woodland Collection
The Woodland Collection began with a small family of animals made using pieces of my great grandmother’s china - given to her from the family she was “in service” to before she married my great grandfather.
Squirrel Nankin was first to emerge followed by rabbits, hedgehogs, foxes, moths and the magnificent Exmoor Stag.
English Country Garden Collection
This collection grew from a love of flowers, patterned china and the small creatures that bring a garden to life.
Bees, butterflies, ladybirds, ducks and garden birds appear amongst blooms, leaves and sparkling jewels.
The Zen Den Collection
A special collection created in collaboration with Katie at the Zen Den, inspired by folklore, nature and everyday magic.
Expect moons, hearts, mushrooms and a little magic, handmade from vintage china, glass and carefully gathered finds - each with its own hidden ladybird.
